Texas does NOT have a mandate for the HPV vaccine. The Governor of Texas (Rick Perry) attempted a mandate, but the Texas legislature reversed it and the vaccine is not required for anyone.

I read this article, and then researched all the relevant links and sources. I am a doctor. This article, and others similar to it, seem almost to be deliberately misinforming. I understand people's worries about vaccines, and many of these worries are legitimate. However, this article quotes sources completely out of context, and contrary to the intent of those sources.

The main source for this article is a petition by a manufacturer to make its test marketable to the general public (i.e. HiFiDNATech). This petition is purely profit motivated, and itself takes FDA statements out of context. The FDA never states that there is no connection between HPV and cervical cancer, but instead that although most HPV infections do not result in cancer, some do, and it is actually supporting the implementation of tests for HPV in order to help prevent cervical cancer.

In fact, even the HiFiDNATech company is acknowledging the link between HPV and cervical cancer, in order to convince the FDA to approve its test. The company is merely making the argument that it's more important to determine the type of HPV infection than to simply detect infection, since many strains (there are over 100 strains known) are not associated with cancer.

But some are (about 15). As for the statement that Gardasil increases the risk of cervical cancer by 44.6%, that's also totally taken out of context and wrong. If you actually read the document and understand it, it states that initially there was a concern that the virus might increase the risk in women already infected, but based on further testing, they felt that the woman in that one test group already had high risk factors for cervical cancer, and that it was probably not related to the vaccine. Remember, the FDA approved this vaccine.

As for the statement, "the FDA had known for years that there is no connection between HPV and cervical cancer," (paraphrased) that is flat-out wrong and frankly inflammatory. Read the actual documents. The link between HPV and cervical cancer has been established beyond doubt in the medical literature. If you want to disbelieve it, fine, but don't use FDA's own documents to falsely portray their viewpoint. Get your facts right!

I'm only going to discuss your claim that the FDA says there is no HPV-cancer link, since that is clearly false. I make no comment regarding your claim about the four test-quadrants, which is certainly important, but I leave it to some other skeptical reader to investigate that as well.

To quote the report you linked to:

"Based on new scientific informatio n
published in the past 15 years, it is now generally agreed that identifying and typing HPV
infection does not bear a direct relationship to stratification of the risk for cervical cancer . Most
acute infections caused by HPV are self-limiting [1, 4-7] . It is the persistent HPV infection that
may act as a tumor promoter in cancer induction [8-11] . Identifying and typing HPV is an
important tool for following patients with persistent HPV infection. Repeated sequential transient
HPV infections, even when caused by "high-risk" HPVs, are characteristically not associated
with high risk of developing squamous intraepithelial lesions, a precursor of cervical cancer .
A woman found to be positive for the same strain (genotype) of HPV on repeated testing is
highly likely suffering from a persistent HPV infection and is considered to be at high risk of
developing precancerous intraepithelial lesions in the cervix . It is the persistent infection, not the
virus, that determines the cancer risk ."

The point of this whole document is, as you said, is that HPV does not necessarily mean cancer. Thus, using the presence of HPV as a marker for cancer is a bad idea, hence the petition for a reclassification.

However, in the same exact paragraph, the authors of this document explain that PERSISTENT HPV infection is strongly associated with cancer. In fact, almost every single case of cervical cancer is associated with a persistent HPV infection [email me if you want a citation, don't have it handy and I need to get to work].

It is also true, as you say, that most cases of HPV are cleaned up by our own immune systems, but not ALL HPV infections.

The point is, some people don't clear up their HPV infections, and have a persistent infection. Furthermore, we know that almost all women with cervical cancer have a persistent infection.

This establishes a need for a working HPV vaccine in sexually active women to prevent cervical cancer, right?

Whether or not Merck's vaccine works, I have no idea, but hopefully someone else can look into that.

Clarke is one of two things, either he's ignorant of what he's saying regarding Madrid bombings, which seems unlikely given his inside status, or he's well aware Madrid was a "false flag" operation and is still spreading the "big lie".

Either way he's scum.

There are now over 400 prominent scholars who are demanding a new investigation into 9/11, plus recently released testimony from 118 firemen of explosives in WTC buildings.

So who should he believe, firemen who were at Ground Zero, who have nothing to gain from telling truth, or politicians who have everything to gain by lying?
